The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr Nyesom Wike, has requested that well-wishers refrain from such acts of celebration. He expressed his gratitude for the support and warm wishes he has received but noted that it is not appropriate to use public resources for personal recognition.

Wike further emphasized that as a public servant, his primary focus is on serving the people and ensuring the development and progress of the FCT. He urged well-wishers to redirect their efforts towards promoting the goals and objectives of the FCT administration, rather than focusing on individual recognition.

The minister’s request shows his commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in his role as a public servant. It also highlights the importance of prioritizing public resources for the benefit of the community as a whole.

Wike’s request for refraining from congratulatory billboards demonstrates his dedication to serving the people and promoting the greater good of the FCT. The Director of Press, Office of the Minister, Mr Anthony Ogunleye, stated this in a statement in Abuja on Sunday.
