Mohamed Al-Fayed, controversial billionaire and the father of Dodi who was killed
along Princess Diana in 1997, has died aged 94 his family said in a statement Friday.


“Mrs Mohamed Al-Fayed, her children and grandchildren wish to confirm that her beloved
husband, their father and their grandfather, Mohamed, has passed away peacefully of old age
on Wednesday August 30, 2023,” his family said in a statement released by the football club he once owned, Fulham FC.

The billionaire entrepreneur who owned Harrods and Fulham FC passed away almost 26 years since his son was tragically killed in a car crash in Paris alongside Princess Diana.
Mohamed Al-Fayed was an Egyptian born in 1929 who moved to the UK in the 1960s.

He was instrumental in the advancement of Dubai, acquired House of Fraser (which included Harrods) with his brothers, and also the Ritz hotel in Paris even until his death.
