Deputy Senate President urges clerics to pray for rapid national development



The Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Barau Jibrin, has urged clerics in the country to intensify prayers for rapid national development.
Barau said this when members of the Kano State Council of Imams led by the chairman, Sheikh Mohammed Nasir Adam, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Mr Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to deputy senate president said this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
He appealed to the clerics to support the government with prayers in its efforts to turn around the country’s fortunes.
Barau commended the clerics for their commitment to the development of the country.
He reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government to revive the economy, create employment and address other challenges bedevilling the country.
‘’ All that you have mentioned are very important. We will look at it with a view of addressing the challenges facing us as a country. We will follow them one after the other.
” I want to use this opportunity to thank you once again for your immense support and prayers. Intensify the prayers for rapid national development,’’ he said.

Earlier, Adam, congratulated Barau on his emergence as the Deputy President of the Senate.

He also expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu would turn around the country’s fortunes if given the needed support.

He appealed to the federal government to address the problem of unemployment in the country, saying that the security challenges in the North were being fueled by unemployment.
