Man, 62, in court for alleged membership of unlawful society

A 62-year-old man, Daveson Fubara, has appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, for alleged membership of an unlawful society.

The suspect was charged on two counts bordering on alleged conspiracy and membership of an unlawful society known as Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

However, his plea was not taken as the court ordered transfer of the file to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

The Magistrate, Mr L.K J Layeni, ordered that he be remanded in prison custody, pending legal advice from the DPP, and adjourned the case until Oct. 25.
